Warrior Reading
WARRIOR READING
Grayson Elementary School’s 6th graders are excited over a new program that has begun at GES. Partner Reading (Warrior Reading) is a great way to engage students in reading fluency practice by reading with a peer. Kindergarten and First grade students have been assigned a Reading Buddy in Sixth grade. Sixth grade students read Accelerated Reading (AR) books every morning from 7:20 – 7:50 with their kindergarten buddy and from 3:10 – 3:40 with their first grade buddy. They discuss the story elements and talk about the book. Students are then allowed to take an AR test on the book. Our excitement about reading is spreading throughout our classrooms.

| New Curtains for GES Auditorium | ||
 Thanks to the Grayson High School Alumni Association for helping defray the cost of new curtains for the auditorium. A check was presented on August 19, 2011 to the school board to cover more than 50% of the cost. |
